How we make money

Full financial disclosure. Nothing here is a paid ranking. Where a referral fee is possible, it's disclosed on the specific review page. Everything else is either free-to-read editorial or a listing service we run directly.

Three revenue sources — all disclosed

1. Referral fees on some cash-buyer and service reviews

On a small number of reviewed companies, we have a referral relationship: if a reader clicks through from our review page, contacts the company, and closes a transaction, we receive a fixed fee. That relationship is disclosed at the top of the specific review page — not buried in a footer, not hidden in fine print.

Companies we do not have a referral relationship with are reviewed by the same methodology and are not penalized in the rankings. Companies we do have a relationship with are not moved up in the rankings; several of our current referral partners rank lower than non-partner companies in the same category.

2. Flat fee MLS listing service (direct-to-seller)

We operate a flat fee MLS listing service for DFW sellers who want to list their home on NTREIS without paying full commission. This is a paid service the site offers directly. Pricing and scope are on the service page.

3. Direct client representation (occasional)

As a licensed Texas real estate agent (TREC #679806), Ross Quade occasionally represents DFW clients in traditional transactions under Spirit Real Estate Group. This is disclosed in our About page.

What we do NOT do

Accept payment for a positive review
Accept payment to remove a negative review
Adjust a company's ranking based on our referral relationship
Publish sponsored content disguised as editorial
Sell reader contact information to third parties

Why negative reviews stay published

Companies we've reviewed critically have asked us to take those reviews down. We don't. The negative reviews are how you know the positive reviews are worth anything. If we removed criticism on request, everything published here would collapse into paid-review noise.

Reader payment

Readers pay nothing to read this site. Every review, calculator, and guide is free. There is no email-gated content, no premium tier, and no ad tracking beyond standard analytics.
